Practice policies

Billing

We are a Medicare bulk billing practice. Patients without a Medicare card will need to pay a fee. Payment is due at the time of your consultation, and we accept EFTPOS, Mastercard and Visa.

We offer no-gap consultations for patients covered by Bupa, Allianz and Medibank.

Pre-employment medicals and commercial driver licence medicals incur a fee, payable at the time of consultation. Allied health services also incur fees, so please check with reception before booking.

Appointments

You can book online, call us on 02 8598 0478, email kellyvillemedical17@gmail.com, or simply walk in. Every effort will be made to see you at your preferred time with your preferred GP.

Appointments are usually booked at 10-minute intervals. If you need a longer consultation, please let reception know when you book. Emergencies are given priority, and our reception team will contact you if there is an unexpected delay.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel an appointment, please let us know as early as possible so we can offer the time to another patient.

Allied health appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice incur a cancellation fee.

Results, referrals and scripts

We don't give results over the phone, and our reception team can't take requests for referrals or script renewals. To get any of these, please book a follow-up appointment with your GP.

Please allow several days for routine pathology results and 24 hours for urgent tests. We will only contact you if your results need further action.

Reminders

We are committed to continuing and preventive care. We run a reminder system for preventive health services and make courtesy calls the day before your appointment. If you don't wish to be part of this system, please tell our reception team.

Home visits

Our doctors offer bulk-billed home visits and nursing home visits to regular patients of the practice who can't attend because of acute illness, limited mobility or lack of transport. Home visits are available within 5 km of the practice, and eligibility is decided by the practice.

Interpreters

If you or your family need an interpreter, we can organise one for you. Please let us know when you book. You can also contact the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National) directly on 131 450.

Privacy

Kellyville Medical Centre and its staff are committed to your privacy and the confidentiality of your health information. All consultations and medical records are kept strictly confidential and are not disclosed to anyone outside the practice without your written authorisation. Our policies and procedures follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.

Feedback and complaints

We take concerns, complaints and suggestions seriously and would like to hear about any part of our service. You can call our Practice Manager on 02 8598 0478, email kellyvillemedical17@gmail.com, or fill in a feedback form at the front counter.

If you feel a matter can't be resolved within the practice, you can contact the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission on (02) 9219 7444.

Zero tolerance of violence

We have zero tolerance for threatening, abusive or violent behaviour towards our staff or patients. Anyone behaving this way will be asked to stop. If the behaviour continues, we may have them removed from the practice and from our patient records.

In an emergency, call 000 immediately.

If you need urgent medical care outside our opening hours, call the National Home Doctor Service on 13 SICK (13 7425).
